Before You Volunteer During School Hours

Most classroom, field trip, and on-campus volunteer opportunities require SJUSD volunteer clearance.

Fingerprinting/Background Check

First-Time Volunteers

  1. Complete the SJUSD application

  2. Submit required documents to volunteer@sjusd.org

  3. Schedule fingerprinting

  4. Receive district clearance

Returning Volunteers

All volunteers must complete this process each year:
