WILLIAMS 2025 HERITAGE DAY
Let's Play Together
Last year, we had the incredible privilege of celebrating 19 different cultures at our Heritage Day, and this year we’re excited to come together again! It was a joyful day where we honored the diverse backgrounds, traditions, and experiences that make Williams Elementary such a special place. We look forward to deepening our appreciation for the many wonderful cultures that make up our school.
This year’s theme is “Let’s Play Together”—a celebration of cultural games from around the world! There’s no better way to connect than through play, and we can’t wait to experience the games and traditions that bring our community closer.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
This event is all about fostering understanding and connection. We invite everyone to participate by contributing a Cultural Booth and/or a Cultural Performance. You can sharing your family’s traditions, food, music, performances, art, cultural items, or anything else that is meaningful to you. Let’s build a stronger, vibrant community as we honor what makes us unique. We can’t wait to see what you’ll share this year!

When visitors stop by your country booth, they’ll be excited to learn about your culture and traditions.
Country booths include food samples and cultural items that represent the country you’re showcasing. Food can include small portions of a popular dish, fruit, dessert, snack, or beverage—whatever best represents your culture! Please note that all food must be purchased from a store, restaurant, or caterer, as homemade items are not allowed due to district policies.
Here are some additional ideas for your table:

* Traditional clothing, toys, knick-knacks, or other unique cultural items
* Music and games to engage visitors and share the fun of your culture
* Any other items or activities you’d like to showcase and share!
The more you can share, the more exciting and interactive your booth will be!

CULTURAL PERFORMANCE
We’d love for you to contribute to the event by offering a performance that showcases your culture! Whether it’s traditional music, dance, storytelling, or any other form of cultural expression, your performance will add excitement and give everyone a chance to experience the richness of your heritage.
We are so lucky to have such an overwhelming number of wonderfully talented Williams students eager to share their cultural performances at Heritage Day. To give as many countries as possible the chance to participate, we’ll accept up to 2 different performances per country (e.g., dance or song) with a total of 20 performances. Spaces are limited and fill up quickly, so sign up early to secure your spot on a first-come, first-served basis! Thank you for collaborating within your community groups and we look forward to the wonderful performances you'll contribute to our day of celebrating diversity.
Stage Size: 12x24ft
Performance length: 2-3 minutes
Performance time & schedule: TBD
Performance Type: Suggested types of performances are dance, singing, martial arts demonstrations, and performances of that nature.
Performers: Performers can invite people from their cultural communities to join them for their performances; however, there needs to be Williams students in every performance group.

What is the WINS Auction & Dinner Night? The WINS Auction & Dinner Night is a fun-filled evening for our Williams community to gather and raise funds for Williams Elementary. This year’s event will be on Saturday, March 2nd at the Almaden Golf & Country Club from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
-
Is this an adults-only event?Yes, the evening is adults-only, so dial up your babysitter and get ready for a night of good food, laughter and company!
-
Can I select whom I sit with?Yes, you sure can! We highly encourage you to make it more fun by forming your own Table of 10 … 5 couples can sign up for the same table, or 10 singles. You can form a Moms or Dads or grade level tables, or just mix it up any which way! Talk to your friends today, and reserve a table together. Registering a full table is the best way to guarantee that you will be seated together. If you don't have a party of 10, that’s fine too. You can indicate on the registration page that you’d like to sit with certain guests. We do our best to accommodate requests, but this is not guaranteed, as it will depend on when your other guest(s) purchase their ticket(s) and if there is room at the table you have already been assigned. Again, the best way to guarantee your table mates is to register a full table together. You can also indicated during registration if you'd like us to help you find a table with other guests in your student’s grade level. Or if you’re the adventurous type and enjoy meeting new people, just sit back and let us decide!
-
What’s included in my admission ticket?Dinner, Silent Auction and Live Auction are included in your ticket! There’s also a DJ and dancing to liven up the evening. There will be a non-hosted bar for beverages and an exciting Dessert Auction that’s not to be missed!
-
How can I purchase a ticket for a teacher or staff member?More info will be coming regarding ticket pricing and purchasing options.
-
What are some items that will be available for the Silent or Live Auction? There are so many great goods and services from local businesses that will be available to be bid during the Silent and Live Auction portion of the evening. Everything from fine dining experiences, summer camp passes, sports tickets, vacation packages and more! There’s a Wine Vault, a Dessert Auction and we’re adding more items every day, so you won’t want to miss out on this fun evening!
-
Can I still donate something to the Auction?Yes! If you know or own a local business that would be willing to donate a good or service to the Auction, please contact us at auction.williams@gmail.com. We’re adding items to our Auction list on a daily basis, and would love to hear from you.
-
How can I volunteer to help? We’re glad you asked! Would you be available to help with some set-up on the day of the event? Can you pick up donated desserts from local bakeries on the morning of the event? Would you be able to help with clean-up/breakdown of the event at the end of the evening? These are just some of the ways that you can help the Auction Committee pull off an amazing event. Please note that volunteers who are also attending the event still need to purchase tickets. If you would like to help solicit donations for the auction, please contact auction.williams@gmail.com.
-
Is there a strict dress code? No, the only restriction is that the Country Club does not allow ripped jeans. It's a beautiful evening, in an extravagant setting, with food, drinks, dancing, and lots of laughter with families whom you meet at school every day. Our theme this year is Masquerade Ball, so if you’d like to dress to the theme, go for it! Otherwise, wear what you like … and bring your fun spirit along.
-
Why another fundraiser, when we already had some? The Williams WINS Foundation passionately supports Williams students, teachers and families, and raises the funds needed to improve and enhance the quality and variety of experiences for students. At the start of every academic year, WINS works out the target goal needed to meet the teacher specialist salaries and financial requirements of the year, and drives fundraisers to meet that amount. This academic year’s overall target is $261,465.60. Every fundraiser counts towards helping us stay on target.
-
What happens if we don’t meet our target goal?Just like any corporation, shortage of funds would result in cutting back on programs or materials that are allocated from that fund. Our continued success comes from the collective commitment of our community and that is why we meet and beat our target year after year.
-
Who organizes this event? We have a fantastic parent committee, who have spent months reaching out to the local businesses, donors, worked on every little aspect to bring you a truly professional, and delightful evening to remember. Please reach out to auction.williams@gmail.com to lend a hand!
-
What if I don't want to bid on anything? That’s fine too! Enjoy the evening as you please. But there are some very tempting deals and priceless items that you may just want to go home with at the end of the night.
